Painting Competition Entry Guidelines

DEADLINE: All entries must be postmarked no later than November 18, 2016 5:00pm

Organized by North American Youth Arts and Culture Foundation and NPC Arts Foundation, “CreART 2016 Canadian Painting & Design Competition for Children and Youth, the painting competition is open to kids and young students from 5 to 18. Prizes will be awarded at 3 age groups: Group A (Age 5-8), Group B (Age 9-12),Group C (Age 13-18). All entries should be size in either 14" X 17"  or 18" X 24", and can be laid out vertically or horizontally. Any type of material would be accepted, such as water color, painting,oil painting, acrylic, crayon, ink painting,etc. Entries become the property of creART 2016 Canadian Painting & Design Competition for Children and Youth and will not be returned. Students are encouraged to submit quality copies of work and keep originals.

JUDGING
All entries will be judged in late November by a panel of professional
designers and senior level artists. If the entries do not meet the
requirements, the panel reserves the right not to award a winner for that

category. All decisions made by the panel are final.

PRIZES
All winning and honorable mention entries will receive certificates. All applicants will
receive participation certificates. Cash prizes for Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in each age group
are as follows:
 Gold award: $500.00 (1 winner in each Group)
 Silver award: $300.00 (3 winners in each Group)
 Bronze award:$100.00 (6 winners in each Group)
All winning and honorable mention entries will be exhibited in December 2016. All exhibited artworks will be framed with framing charge at $30.00 per piece. All winning and honorable
artworks will be collected in an artwork album ($30 per copy).

Organized by North American Youth Arts and Culture Foundation and NPC Arts Foundation, “CreART 2016 Canadian Painting & Design Competition for Children and Youth” first time brings Design Category to the competition.We believe as a true artist or designer, his idea of design is more important than the artwork itself. So this competition promotes the study and awareness of all design disciplines among middle school and college students across Canada. The competition is open to students from 13 to 22, as well as college students who are under 23. Prizes will be awarded in 2 categories: Character Design and Fashion Design. Students are invited to submit more than one entry in different categories.

All entries should be firmly mounted on a board, no larger than 22”x30” in size and can be laid out vertically or horizontally. Models of the artwork original piece is not necessary. All written material must be included with the images. The completed entry form should be clipped to the front of the artwork.

Entries become the property of creART 2016 Canadian Painting & Design Competition for Children and Youth and will not be returned. Students are encouraged to submit quality copies of work and keep originals.

CATEGORIES

CHARACTER DESIGN
Theme: Holidays
Design a set of 6 consecutive illustration (6”x8” each, edit and attach them on a board sized 22”x30”) with description details right beside the images to express how you want to or dream to spend your holidays.                                                        

FASHION DESIGN
Theme: Raincoat
Design a rain coat that can be worn in the cool rainy days in Vancouver. Submissions may be illustrated or rendered in any format: hand sketches, digital drawings, or renderings. Submissions should include artwork and description details of the design. The finished work should be attached on a board size: 22” x 30”. The original artwork is not necessary.
